Who we are

We are a town-centre, child friendly and inclusive church serving Maidenhead and beyond.

In this busy changing world we offer a space to worship, to grow our faith, to pray, to enable anyone to understand Christ’s love, to find friendship, to enjoy music and activities and to work for the wider community.

As part of the United Reformed Church we care about social justice and tackle need when we see it.

At this moment, we are a church deeply involved in helping the situation in Ukraine as well as our regular involvement with Fairtrade, Christian Aid, Commitment for Life (especially Zimbabwe), refugees, local foodbanks and other local organisations.

You are welcome to join us!

It’s an exciting time for us as we seek a new minister to help guide not only our Church, but also the three other churches we form a joint Pastorate with: Christ Church Marlow URC, St. Paul’s URC in Bracknell and Christ Church Windsor URC.

About our building

Maidenhead United Reformed Church has the oldest church building in Maidenhead which is still in regular use. It can trace its origins back to 1662 when a Congregational Chapel was erected in Back Lane which is now West Street.

The main part of the present church dates from 1785, with modifications in the 19th century and recently in the 1980s. We became a United Reformed Church in 1972 when the Congregational Church in England and Wales united with the Presbyterian Church.
